How to Exercise Without Even Knowing It.

I found this article on the Belviq "BELIVE" website that I am a member of:

How to Exercise Without Even Knowing It

Here are some proven strategies to get you moving.

A group of scientists recently suggested, in a review that appeared in the International Journal of Obesity, that Americans are simply spending too much time talking about how our toxic food environment and our couch potato ways are making us obese. Perhaps there are other reasons that we’re plumping up, they proposed. Among their alternate obesity theories: we’re not sleeping enough, air pollution messes up our metabolism, we’ve adapted to air conditioning— and so we don’t need to regulate our internal temperatures by ramping up our metabolic rates (thus, burning more calories). All that may be true, but that doesn’t change the fact that eating right and exercising are the ways to manage your weight. To that end, try incorporating some of these excellent ways to exercise without even knowing it. You may not think of the activities below as exercise—but at the end of the day, all of these strategies burn calories and get your heart rate up.
1. Wash your car.
Embrace the summer heat—with a hose: Burn calories and make your car look beautiful as you wash it, dry it and get it (and you) buff.
2. Do your own yard work.
Tell the teenage kid from down the street that you’ll mow your own lawn—and pay him to make some iced tea instead. While you’re at it, weed the vegetable garden and toss some new mulch around the perennials out front.
3. Reinstate the “water cooler.”
Everyone needs a periodic work break, but instead of emailing witty quips to your buddy in the next office, walk to the water cooler and dish in person.
4. Get started on that home-improvement project.
Painting, hammering, hoisting—it’s all exercise (some of it moderate to vigorous). And don’t discount all the walking that you’ll do as you wander around the big home-improvement warehouse looking for that specific hinge (or someone who can help you find it).
5. Dog sit.
For a puppy, ideally. You won’t be able to sit on the couch for long—unless you don’t care about your carpet—or your shoes. Know anyone with a dog? Ask if they’ll be heading out on holiday this summer, sans pet. You’ll sneak in a week’s worth of exercise—and probably earn yourself a nice bottle of wine upon their return.
6. Eat al fresco.
Pack a healthy picnic—one that requires schlepping a big ice-filled cooler across a field or a park. Bring a ball or a Frisbee for after-eating activities.

I think I can, I think I can, I think I can

Happy Monday Peeps!

I hope you had a grand weekend!!

I left my posting last week saying I was losing motivation.  While that is normal for anyone losing weight, it's always great to have a wonderful support system to help boost you back where you need to be.  I haven't necessarily hit a "plato" of sorts, I am just frustrated.  I think I keep looking at the bigger picture in terms of weight loss and it just seemed impossible.

Remember back when I first started this journey, I set a bunch of smaller goals.  I let myself look beyond that when I should have stayed focused on the smaller goals because, after all, I am meeting them!!!

To remind you of the next two goals I have:

1. is in about 13 pounds (from my last weigh in) I will be on a "lower" notch of the scale at the doctor's office.  If you are at all familiar with the scales at the doctors office, you will know that there are two parts to the scale.  The first part is in the 50 pound increments - 50, 100, 150 etc. and the second part is in the 1 pound increment of 1 - 49.  When I first weighed in, the bottom bracket was 250 and the top was 43 = 293 pounds.  At my last weigh in, the bottom was 250 and the top was 12 = 262.  When I lose 13 pounds, I will be able to move that bottom number to 200!!  With that at 200 and the top number at 49 = 249.

2.  My 2nd short term goal is to lose total 50 pounds - that only  19 pounds from my last weigh in and only 4 more pounds from the 1st goal listed.

So, those are the goals I need to focus on vs. the overall LARGE overwhelming number LOL.

I took a vacation day Friday to do some volunteer work.  When I came to the office today, this is what I found on my wall:

Being bright neon pink, you can't miss it when you walk in the door.  When I moved around to my desk, another co-worker had laminated 3 sets of another "motivation" (so I can have one at home to):

So, just like any addiction recovery, support is necessary.  Food is my addiction.

Have a fabulous Monday!

how to lose 20 pounds in a month

Friday update!

Hello everyone - I am sorry I am just now posting.  I actually volunteered today at the PSTD Foundation where transitional homes are being built for veterans.  Anyway, where I live, the management company Camden closed all properties down and all 300 plus local employees spent the day getting 2 homes finished and the fences built, etc.  They had asked me to come take pictures.  IT WAS SO HOT.  I got a lot of walking in and a lot of sweating - hopefully I lost at least 1 pound ha!

That's the reason there was no weigh in today.  I will do my next weigh in next Friday.

I have to be honest, I am losing a little motivation.  I'm getting just frustrated that I can't do all I want to do.  I'm hoping to regain some motivation..........so positive words please!  :)

I hope you all have a great weekend.

Happy Tuesday

I hope everyone is having a great Tuesday.  I decided to cut my blog posts to maybe a few times a week vs. every day.  I run out of things to say other than, I am losing weigh and I still feel full on belviq haha!  I hope you are all ok with that.

Friday would be my normal weigh in but I am actually taking a vacation day because I am volunteering to photo document and maybe help out at camp home where CAMDEN Properties are finishing up two homes for disabled vets.  So, I'll push my weigh in out a week.

If you are still considering weight loss options, seriously think of Belviq.  For more information go to www.belviq.com!!

I'll do a post later this week to let you know how my week went!

My dreams are in sight with Belviq

Happy Thursday everyone!

So, I had a guy that is following my progress ask me, "do you have any goals (other than the weight loss) that you are trying to reach, like do certain activities or wear a certain clothing item?"  He was suggesting that it would be totally awesome to see what it is that I would like to achieve eventually so that when that time comes and I do make those goals, everyone can celebrate with me by seeing photos etc.

I have a lot of goals.  There are certains things I would love to do.  But, I am a girl and I LOVE clothes!  At the end of the day, there are two dresses I totally want to wear.

DRESS #1
This dress is a Michael Kor's dress that one of my long time friends, Terah Aultman has hanging in her closet waiting for me.  She told me, when I can fit in this dress, I can have it.  Of course, I LOVE Michael Kors AND I love BLING - this is a sequensed (sp?) dress and I can't wait to wear it!

DRESS #2
This cute little dress I got on clearance for $3!!  The reason was because it was not marked with the appropriate size and they were bringing in fall clothes.  I can't wait to wear this dress withi some cute cowboy boots!  My goal si to be in this little number by spring!!

Today, I wore my "skinny" jeans and I got so many compliments.  It feels great to know that my hard work is FINALLY starting to show.

Belviq is truly my miracle RX.  It helped me fix the problem that was causing me so much trouble with eating and I am pumped up every day!

Have a wonderful Thursday!

Belviq Pricing Perspective

I just want to say THANK YOU to those that donated to help me get my Belviq this month. I just picked up my RX. I can't belive I am starting month 3. Two and a half months in and I am so just as motivated as I was the day I started!

The other day, I was at a luncheon for a seminar for work.  I met this lady and, naturally, Belviq came up (by me) at our table of 10.  I am not exactly sure how it came up but I took advantage of the conversation.  One asked if it was covered by insurance.  I said, "Not all carriers are covering it right now" and went into the 15 day free trian and the $75 off monthly coupon for 12 months.  I said, "At the end of the day, it's about $160 per month for me which is normaly way out of my budget right now".  Then the one girl popped up and said, "That's not bad when I think about how much I spent doing  those stupid weight loss programs"

So, this weekend, I was visiting with a friend.  She's using a weightloss supplement that her sister sells.  I was talking about how much it is and she as well said, "That's really about what I am paying per month for the xyz method."  So, in retrospect, Belviq (without insurance) is about what the average person is paying on the street for alternative, non MD supervised weightloss program.

That put alot into perspective about the cost of Belviq.  Although I personally could not afford to do one of those other methods, there are many more that can!

I've had a few followers that were not able to continue with Belviq due to side effects. Everyone's body is different, but overall, Belviq is working miracles for MANY, MANY more people I think that is why you should definitely take advantage of the 15 day free trial. Go to www.belviq.com to learn more about it and see if it is right for you.

Have a great Wednesday!
